The aim of this research is to find out: (1) what is the interest in reading of class II elementary school students in MIN 5 Medan City, and (2) what is the role of parents in fostering children's interest in reading. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method where researchers collect data in both written and oral form from related informants. The data sources used are primary and secondary data sources. In the data collection process, researchers used 3 data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of the research data reveal that the role of parents in cultivating children's interest in reading has a very important role, namely by explaining: (1) Interest in reading in class II children in MIN 5 Medan City can be said to have grown quite well because of the role of parents who help them in cultivating an interest in reading. This can be seen from students who feel happy about reading books, getting reading facilities that suit their needs, parents who create reading activities at home, and children's interest in reading. The purpose of this study is to elucidate the causes of students' low motivation to learn Akida Aflaq. The reasons for the low learning motivation of Akida-Aklak students are that teachers still use traditional models, students get bored quickly because teachers do not use media effectively in learning, and students do not participate actively in learning because they do not have the courage to discuss or express their opinions during learning. Various learning models and methods, such as the Student Times Achievement Division learning model, can be applied to these problems to motivate students to learn. This study is an experimental study aimed at checking some things and confirming their results in order to test something. Data collection techniques can also be measured using questionnaires, validity tests, reliability tests, etc. Therefore, the obtained research results show that the learning model is not correctly applied by the teachers when learning, so that the students with Akida-Aklak have low learning motivation, get bored easily, and lack the courage to discuss and express their opinions during learning. Many students in public schools still underestimate aspects of discipline, such as morals, manners and behavior, or others. The aim of this research is to form a disciplined character in students through Islamic education, where Islamic education is a process of deepening and understanding the values ​​of students' knowledge to achieve equality and perfection in life. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a library approach, collecting sources such as books, journal articles, etc. to be analyzed, then interpreted critically and presented more systematically about the function of Islamic education in the formation of discipline. The aim of this research is to develop and foster an academic culture in the school environment. Where schools can improve learning and education effectively and sustainably. The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach, with a research design (research library) sourced from books, the latest journals and other sources of information as well as those that support the writing of this article, for example trusted national newspapers. The purpose of this education is to reveal the behavior or the mind but it should be based on the guidelines of the Qur'an and the Hadits and Islamic education should be based on the Quran and the Hadist where in Islam there is a source of law. One part of the learning planning component is the method. A method is a method used to achieve a predetermined goal. The demonstration method is a teaching method that uses demonstration to clarify an understanding of paying attention to doing something to students.</em> <em>In the learning process, solutions will also arise. Pendidikan non-formal dapat dilakukan secara berjenjang ataupun tidak berjenjang. Dan peserta didik dari pendidikan non-formal selain memiliki kesamaan dengan peserta didik jalur formal, juga memiliki karakteristik yang menjadi pembeda dengan peserta didik jalur formal. Fokus penelitian ini adalah: 1) mengetahui bagaimana persamaan antara peserta didik home schooling lembaga bumi baca ceria dengan peserta didik formal, 2) mengetahui karakteristik dari peserta didik home schooling lembaga bumi baca ceria, 3) mengetahui kebutuhan spesifik peserta didik home shcooling lembaga bumi baca ceria. Tujuan penelitian adalah:1) untuk mengetahui persamaan peserta didik home schooling lembaga bumi baca ceria dengan peserta didik jalur formal, 2) untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari peserta didik home schooling lembaga bumi baca ceria, 3) untuk mengetahui kebutuhan spesifik peserta didik home schooling lembaga bumi baca ceria. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik <em>Home Schooling</em> Bumi Baca Ceria dan peserta didik formal memiliki persamaan dan perbedaan yang menjadi ciri khas keduanya. Dan diantara ciri khas dari peserta didik <em>Home Schooling</em> Bumi Baca Ceria adalah dari segi kurikulumnya. Fun Learning strategy is an approach that emphasizes a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. Through the literature method, this article analyzes the concept and characteristics of the Fun Learning strategy and its benefits for students in Islamic Education subjects. The results show that the application of Fun Learning strategies can increase interest, motivation, concentration, and understanding of the material, as well as develop students' critical thinking skills, creativity, confidence, and positive character. Some ways of applying Fun Learning strategies include through games, storytelling, humor, charades and pictures.
